| Wow... talk about a classic act. These guys REALLY know how to put on a show. After all they been doing it for over 30 YEARS. They were KISS's favourite opening act for a while there back in 1977/78. Big tour, lots of exposure, silly rich n famous. They picked up lots of tips from Kiss and vice versa I'm sure. Just look at Rick Neilson's mike stand. If that isn't a Kiss thing, what is? The guy flicks more picks into the audience than anyone other than Gene himself. Even though the ticket says Foo Fighters AND Cheap Trick it was actually Cheap Trick AND Foo Fighters. Dave actually bowed down and let the Trick headline this show! What a nice fucking gesture Dave. You gotta really like Dave that way. Anyway... Cheap Trick was lots of fun. | I had no idea Rick Neilson sang as much as he did. He really was the front man even more than Robin Zander. Rick also has the most awesome collection of guitars you could ever see. Bizarre shaped bodies and multiple necks like his 5 neck beast. He grabs a different guitar for EVERY song. Makes for cool pics. I've got WAY more photos of these guys and I really should show more of those guitars... some day. This was my first time seeing the guys live and it just happened to be at Sarnia's Bayfest. Did I mention I LOVE Sarnia's Bayfest? Well, it's the only place in the world you can see the likes of Foo Fighters, Collective Soul and Tragically Hip for a mere $25. Oh.. I think they put the price up to $27 this year. Break the fuckin bank. |
