This was one of the first shows I ever shot.  I just got my camera and didn't really know what I was doing but I had a great spot standing on the side of the stage.  I was into some REALLY heavy tunes back then and these guys were the home town heroes in Edmonton as far as heavy tunes were concerned. Still don't know what the fuck the guy was singing without reading the lyrics but it didn't matter cuz I was 21 years old.  All that mattered was that it was fuckin' HEAVY and LOUD.  Yeah, do the math... I'm an old fuck now. I knew the promoter and he wasn't hooked up with too many photographers so I was selected as the guy to get him some shots.  So I did.  This was the second time I shot for him.  The first time was GWAR.  My very first concert shoot.  He let me in free, fed me more beer than I could handle and tried to shoot a show.  Same thing as this time.  Too much beer and I'm staggering around on the stage trying to get some good shots.  Good luck.  I managed to pull a couple off though.  What can I say about this band other than, "why the fuck isn't Maurice in the band anymore?"  He's the guy with the wicked big hair.  I got two good shots of him and not much else of the rest of the band.  Maurice was the foot soldier for that band.  He was out on the streets handing out flyers, talking to people and getting them interested in the band.  Anyone who looked like they were a headbanger (like me) he'd stop and talk to.  He was an instantly likable guy and the biggest reason I bothered showing up that night other than my promoter buddy.
