These
guys decided it was time to take a break. After umpteen years in the
business, umpteen habits formed, lost and formed again, they figured it was time
to sit back and re-evaluate. I have a whole shit load of shots from this
concert but always keep forgetting to have them developed.
I was in the VIP tent for this one shooting for FM96 in London. Got shitfaced on free beer, ate a load of munchies, and got a buddy in for free who also partook in all that was offered. Hugh Dillon was loaded and being something of a dick. I had to shoot the contest winners with the bands and Hugh was yelling at me to "hurry the fuck up" etc.. I don't care who you are, you don't fuckin talk to me like that for no fuckin reason.
So I picked up my beer, turned around and head over to get me another one while saying to myself "DON'T tell him to FUCK OFF". He had a bottle of J.D. that he was swigging at straight up. That stuff will turn your sweet little grandmother into an instant asshole! The show was very successful so afterwards his tune changed and he was in a pretty good mood even though he fell off the stage.
Headstones was always fun to go see. They had lots of killer tunes, heavy action and a history of madness that made each show a little different than the last. Always something to look forward to cuz you just never knew when Hugh was gonna do something crazy or stupid. I really hope they get back together and kick some ass again cuz Hugh's dickness aside, that night, they really were a great band with an attitude that showed people how some of us Canadians really are.
